Our Story
Food has always been my love language. I’ve been feeding people my whole life, just not professionally.
Cooking for family was never a chore. It was how I showed up for people. Life eventually took me into sales and later into coaching business owners, helping them build something worth being proud of. But the thread running through all of it has always been the same. Pay attention to what people need and deliver it well.
Barbecue found me about six years ago. I started on a pellet smoker, kept pushing, moved to open fire, and eventually landed on a traditional Texas offset. Wood, fire, smoke. It sounds simple until you realize how much there is to learn. Every step was deliberate. Every cook taught me something. Somewhere along the way it stopped being a hobby and started feeling like a calling.
No shortcuts in business. No shortcuts in barbecue. To me, those two things have always meant the same thing.
What drives me isn’t just the technique, though I care deeply about that. It’s the moment someone takes a bite and their face changes. That moment never gets old.
Covenant Barbecue exists because Tucson deserves craft barbecue done right. Not trendy. Not rushed. Not assembled from shortcuts. Just real food, made with time, served with pride.
